Vampire Weekend's April 28 performance in Birmingham has been moved from Sloss Furnaces to the BJCC Concert Hall, 2100 Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd. North.

Promoter Red Mountain Entertainment announced the switch today, citing the threat of severe storms on Monday. The date at Sloss was sold out, but some general admission tickets now are available through Ticketmaster, priced at $40 plus service charges. (Sloss holds about 2,400 people in the shed for shows; the concert hall holds about 2,800.)

Tickets purchased for the Sloss show will be honored at the BJCC. All seats at the concert hall will be general admission. Doors open at 7 p.m.; music starts at 8 p.m. Ticketholders in line will receive wristbands at the door -- first come, first served -- with different colors for each level of the concert hall.
