Descrição
The main work of the concert - Mahler’s ninth symphony - was described by Leonard Bernstein as “the ultimate farewell” – to passion and human love; to country life and urban society; and to life itself. Yet this extraordinary and immense work remains a defiant affirmation of life.
"It is music coming from another world, it is coming from eternity" - Herbert von Karajan.
Before that, excting young violinist Eloisa-Fleur Thom plays Beethoven’s lyrical Romances for violin and orchestra.
