Foo Fighters Late Show Residency

It's been three years since we've heard new music from GRAMMY-award-winning fivesome but we think we can forgive their hiatus after learning about the concept of their upcoming eighth studio album Sonic Highways. Described by frontman Dave Grohl as "a love letter to the history of American music," the rockers recorded the album in eight major US cities — Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Seattle and Washington, D.C. — all with cameras rolling to capture every musical moment. The footage is being released as an eight-episode series on HBO, titled Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways, and the band is promoting both the show and their album with a week-long appearance on CBS's Late Show with David Letterman.
