    You're both still confusing the biological sex with gender. Gender identity is not determined by what sexual organs you're born with. How have you still not got this? Gender determines what pronouns are appropriate though. If Jim James identifies as a man then you refer to him as him. If Laura identifies as female then you refer to her as her. That's what gender is.

I feel like these discussions are always worth it even if it seems like most people you're talking to will never budge from their backward, disrespectful views (or admit to it anyway), it's worth it for the few that do.     There is only face value. For respect , in a personal relation I would call him, "her". But never write "her" in a encyiclopedia, that's wrong. As wrong and as last night in a club, there was a dude i know is a travestite but is very hard to identify. He was kissing a lot of dudes that had no idea he was him. Tell me if it is politically correct, you politically correct people.
