Alice inizia la carriera giovanissima, con il suo vero nome, partecipando a vari concorsi per nuovi talenti: il primo di cui si ha notizia è il V Festival Internazionale dei Ragazzi, che si tiene a Sanremo il 17 e 18 luglio del 1965.

È poi da ricordare Fuori la voce, tenutosi a Cesenatico nell’agosto 1967, in cui la non ancor tredicenne Bissi riesce a farsi notare e ad ottenere il primo trafiletto su uno dei più prestigiosi settimanali italiani specializzato in musica beat e pop, Giovani[1].

Nel 1971 vince il Festival di Castrocaro con una personale interpretazione di Tanta voglia di lei, classico dei Pooh; la stampa le attribuisce, grazie ai suoi grandi occhi scuri, il soprannome la cerbiatta di Forlì[2].

L’anno successivo partecipa di diritto al Festival di Sanremo con la canzone Il mio cuore se ne va, ma non riesce ad arrivare in finale. La cantante affermerà più volte che il pezzo non la entusiasmava già allora. Sempre nel 1972, con il brano La festa mia (scritto da Franco Califano), viene premiata con la “Gondola d’Argento” alla Mostra Internazionale di Musica Leggera di Venezia.

Per qualche tempo se ne perdono le tracce, ma nel 1975 pubblica per la CBS il suo primo album, La mia poca grande età, col nome di Alice Visconti. Seguono due singoli quali Io voglio vivere e Piccola anima, che entra in classifica.

Nel 1978 viene pubblicato il secondo LP Cosa resta… un fiore, da cui vengono estratti altri due singoli (…E respiro e Un’isola): le interpretazioni sono già convincenti, la voce presenta già un timbro particolare ed i caratteristici toni bassi, lei è anche avvenente, ma ancora non basta del tutto.
