Biografia

I don't think their debut gets enough credit for how experimental and brave it is. For a new band, mixing their sound up so much and trying so many different and unique things on their first outing is highly commendable.

Yeah, they played a one off show in Sleazy's a few years back but it sold out fast since it's a small venue and they have a such a large cult following. It would be good if they could do it again, maybe even have more than one gig this time.

@AnAppleScruff: They did a few years ago, so its entirely possible they would do again.

Yeah, every release has something interesting to offer. And i can't say i dislike The Red Thread, but it feels to me like a bit of a slog to get through, even though it isn't particularly long.

I'm not entirely sure why I like it so much, it's just the one album of theirs that really clicked for me. No disrespect to the rest of their discography with that statement though. They never once put out a bad album. The Last Romance in particular does not get enough love!

but Philophobia is not only the best Arab-Strap-Record, but ranks among the best 10 records of all times. It's sadcore, really no other word for it. You can hear the hangover on a saturday/sunday morning, or simply any other day. Red Thread also has its highs.
