The two Bruce Springsteen shows in Gothenburg on the 4th and 5th of July was nothing short of fantastic. I'd give the first show 4/5 and the second a strong 5/5!

The first show was pretty solid starting with Born in the USA, played for the first time this tour. I don't care much for that song but it was a very powerful opening. They kept playing lots of the bigger hits like Cadillac Ranch, Hungry Heart, Two Hearts, Prove It All Night, Dancing in the Dark but the highlights of the evening for me was Independence Day, Because the Night, 4th of July Asbury Park (Sandy), Spirit in the Night, This Hard Land, Rosalita, Be True and the obligatory Born to Run, Badlands, The Promised Land and American Land. The set list was based on hits and high energy. Nothing to complain about though.

But the second show started with Night and No Surrender that I love. It felt from the start that anything could happen tonight. …

This was not so much a concert as a two-hour-plus demonstration of mutual affection between artist and audience. It had been many years since my last Bruce concert, but I think this one was the best. Instead of a full write-up, I will simply post the playlist to the best of my ability. I need to research a couple songs; if I find them I will update. The discerning fan will notice that there is a complete album beginning-to-end in there. Anyway, here goes.

Veintiún días después, aún no he hecho una crónica del concierto de Bruce Springsteen en Valladolid y creo que ya es hora de hacerlo.

Para empezar, me tocó el número 574 y la pulsera verde la tengo guardada en el cajón. Entramos unas tres horas antes del concierto y pillamos la quinta fila. Llamé a mi ama diciéndole que iba a verle los calzoncillos a Springsteen.
Como no, el Boss y su banda se retrasaron un par de minutos (multiplicados por diez, es decir, veinte) hasta que salieron. Comenzaron el concierto con un pasodoble y enseguida empezaron a sonar los primeros acordes de Badlands, haciendo que todo el estadio de José Zorrilla saltara inevitablemente.
Después vinieron más clásicos como Hungry Heart o Spirit in the Night, canción que me sorprendió gratamente, pues no me la esperaba para nada. Pero antes de la última canción citada, tocó Outlaw Pete, que me da igual lo que digan sobre plagio hacia Kiss, es una gran canción y en directo mucho mejor aún…
