Gisteren was het Frank Boeijen tijd in de Vooruit te Gent.

Frank Boeijen maakt kleinkunst dus zijn de meeste liedjes luistermuziek. Hij heeft ook een prachtige stem.

De zaal en het publiek waar veel beter dan bij Boudewijn De Groot. Het concert van Boudewijn was goed maar de Capitole is toch niet echt geschikt als concertzaal dunkt mij. Rond achten begon de show.

Ook Frank Boeijen had een heel mooie setlist samengesteld en zich laten omringen door een fantastische band.

Hij heeft het liedje gespeeld dat ik wou: De Verzoening. Naar mijn mening toch zijn mooiste liedje.

Een heel leuk moment was toen hij en de band zich vlak voor het publiek zetten. De drummer nam een box mee en begon daar dan op te drummen.

Tijdens het nummer Zwart-Wit zong iedereen het refrein mee. Toen Boeijen gestopt was met zingen maar de band nog verder speelde bleef het publiek maar verder zingen.

Heel grappig was ook dat hij tot 2x toe gebist heeft. Eerst 1 nummer en dan nog eens 3 nummers. …

Fri 26 Sep – Frank Boeijen, Henny Vrienten, Henk Hofstede. Leidse Schouwburg, Leiden.

A beautiful sunny autumn day. The perfect opportunity for Coach Bertels to skip work early and relax whole afternoon. Feeling not that happy due to obstacles of prejudice, Bertels pours himself several whiskey and coke containing beverages. A vinyl record is turning and the needle registers Midaircondo. Time ticks away as Coach finds himself in a hazy world of guilt, rainy Sunday afternoons and slow inspirational freedom. What a feeling! Coach likes moments like these, dozed away in that shimmering dark wonderland, were emotions run free and reality is explained in thought and lava vision. After three hours Bertels regains actual strength and starts preparing for tonight’s event: aardige jongens at the Leidse Schouwburg. Live at the Greenhouse, Holland.

The place is great in its transparency, a glass house without secrets where everybody is equal. For the second time this year this location was chosen for a magnificent evening with three acts in which skilled musicians make very nice music for the 60 quests. The day started slow as Bertels listened to the radio: Spijkers met Koppen. A great live show from Utrecht with live performances from Henny Vrienten, Frank Boeijen and Henk Hofstede forming the trio: aardige jongens. Actually Bertels wanted to go to the pub where the radio show was to witness it for himself, but instead he stayed home and listened in through streaming radio. Around two o clock Coach Bertels got ready for a visit to the city, with a list of stuff to do and get in his pocket. On the list were items like: Patatoes, andijvie, lettuce, milk, butter, rookworst, stamper and dunschiller. Things needed for a lesson in Dutch kitchen art for five Portuguese, two Italian and one Katwijk kitchen newbie’s. …
