Biografia

Mono é uma banda japonesa de post-rock, formada em Tokyo, em 1999. Seu som é influenciado tanto pelo período clássico da música, quanto pelo contemporâneo da música clássica. Misturada às guitarras rítmicas, com efeitos de distorção, reverb e atraso, a banda produz um som intenso, denso.

Mono também foi um duo de pop britânico formado pela vocalista Siobhan De Maré e o produtor Martin Virgo. O banda se tornou conhecida pelo one-hit wonder single Life in Mono, usado no filme Great Expectations de 1998.

A música do grupo é geralmente descrita como trip hop, visto que há similaridades com Sneaker Pimps e Portishead. Sem falar da frequentemente falada influência do jazz remanescente, da década de 1960, de filmes de espionagem e ainda dos estilos de produção da música pop surgidos também na mesma década.

    I think that Walking Cloud and Deep Red Sky, Flag Fluttered and the Sun Shined is their best. It's a masterpiece. Невероятно красивые и тонкие мелодии пронизывающие душу, ведущие в никуда. Да что там говорить, тронуть могут даже названия треков, да и имя самого альбома весьма необычное. Мне кажется, альбом сильно недооценен. При прослушивании в голове рождаются яркие образы, в том числе и история о девочке, сложившей тысячу бумажных самолетиков. Шедевр. .удивительна и необыковенная близость к русскому духу, хоть и проект японский, это достаточно хорошо заметно, и поэтому Mono так близки русской душе. Нет, робяты. Это не обычный посрачок, вроде GIAA, или 65dos, maybeshewill и прочего bullshit. Это настоящая музыка, что-то на уровне GY!BE, хоть и совершенно на них не похоже. Это вселенская скорбь и постапокалиптическая мощь. Это Mono

    yearning is maybe the most wonderful song ever composed, such an amazing piece of art. right in the middle when you think: "ah, ok, just another postrock track, nothing spectacular" mono just destroy you within 8 min and you'll know what yearning means.
