Say Anything é uma banda estadunidense de indie rock, formada em Los Angeles, Califórnia e liderada pelo cantor e compositor Max Bemis.

A banda começou a sua carreira em 2001 com o nome de Sayanything. Todos os membros da banda ainda frequentavam o colegial. Say Anything lançou independentemente dois EPs chamados Junior Varsity e Menorah/Majora, este último que foi um lançamento exclusivo na internet, e um LP intitulado Baseball.

Em agosto de 2004 a banda lançou o disco …Is a Real Boy pela gravadora Doghouse Records.

Durante o outono de 2005 o vocalista Max Bemis teve que ser hospitalizado após apresentar problemas psicológicos. Isso aconteceu pouco após o re-lançamento de …Is a Real Boy e um pouco antes do início de sua turnê. Esse problemas fizeram com que o Say Anything tivessem que adiar a sua turnê até janeiro do ano seguinte. Esses acontecimentos marcaram a segunda vez que a saúde mental de Max fez com que a banda tivesse de parar suas atividades por um certo tempo. Max Bemis foi diagnosticado com Distúrbio Bipolar, porém não apresentou mais nenhum incidente relacionado a este distúrbio até hoje.

A banda assinou um contrato com a J Records que pertence a Sony BMG Music Entertainment, uma das maiores gravadoras do mundo.

Em 2007 a banda lançou o seu primeiro trabalho em uma gravadora de grande porte, o álbum intitulado In Defense of the Genre foi lançado como um CD duplo. Junto com o lançamento o primeiro single de trabalho “Baby Girl, I’m A Blur” foi lançado.

    I want to like anything post-IARB so bad. I'm typically very accepting of all things music. Hell, my fav Savesthe Day album is In Reverie and fav NFG is Coming Home (both shifts in sounds for both bands). I want to be reeled back so badly.

    I loved IDOTG, it was so bloated and had so many different things going on that I liked it for that reason. The summer of 2006 was when my friends introduced me to Say Anything through ..Is A Real Boy, though I actually think I listened to Was A Real Boy way more. It's crazy how time flies. And yes, I'm in agreement that self titled and Anarchy are horrible records.

    So interested to see what happens next for this band. Too many divided fans. Would love to Max pull something impressive out. While I did enjoy Anarchy, My Dear and thought it was solid, I'd still love to see an album that screams its a contender for all fans.

    JANUARY 22ND CAN'T COME QUICK ENOUGH. Re-release of Baseball, Menorah/Majora, Dormroom Demos, Junior Varsity and Other Early Rarities, which include a 2012 acoustic version of Baseball, But Better. Best news I've heard in a long time.

    I just rediscovered "...Is A Real Boy" after not giving a shit about this band since s/t came out. Still a great record and brings back so many great memories.

    @lordaardvark2, I've heard that their live show carries beautifully even if you hated their recent releases. Max still brings out old "IARB" favorites.
