Coréia do Sul (2007 – presente)

Wonder Girls (원더걸스, WG) é uma famosa da Coréia do Sul formada e produzida por 박진영 (JYP 엔터테인먼트). Todas as 5 integrantes originais (Sun Ye, Yenny, HyunA, Sun Mi, So Hee) foram selecionadas através de audições. Debutaram em 10 de Fevereiro de 2007 no Music Core com Irony.

O single de estréia, The Wonder Begins, se tornou um grande sucesso. No mesmo ano, fizeram showcases por toda a China. No resto do ano, no entanto, algumas delas foram atingidas por problemas de saúde e acidentes.

Em 25 de Junho, So Hee rompeu o ligamento do joelho após cair de uma motocicleta nas filmagens de “I Like It Hot” e foi afastada por um mês. As demais continuaram realizando apresentações até Julho, quando HyunA foi removida pela preocupação de sua família quanto a sua saúde ㅡ em particular, a gastrite crônica que a manteve hospitalizada entre Março e Abril.

Em 5 de Setembro, a Good Entertainment, agência do 신화, mandou sua trainee Yoo Bin para substituir HyunA (que 2 anos depois se juntou ao 4Minute), fazendo sua estréia 3 dias depois com o single Tell me no Music Bank.

O 1º álbum, The Wonder Years, foi lançado na semana seguinte, no dia 13. Por causa da adição de Yoo Bin na última hora, a versão do álbum não contém suas partes. Contudo, a versão da performance foi retrabalhada para incluir um trecho com seu rap. A faixa-título, Tell me, foi um hit e alcançou o #1 em várias paradas musicais coreanas da internet e da TV, incluindo o Music Bank.

    DocumentaLy: Nobody is comparing WG to The Saturdays as artists. The comparison was merely that both are groups and both have married pregnant members yet one is basically over and the other isnt. Chill out.

    I very much doubt Sunye will be back. Maybe I'm just a pessimist, but I don't see it happening. Ever. I bet she'll want to spend all her time with her new baby (and I think that's her choice, and she should be happy) ...I could definitely see other people going back to their groups if they had babies, but not Sunye. No idea why. I think she'll just be a very supportive mother and will want to spend a lot of time at home now.
