Nu metal, também conhecido como new metal ou nü metal (em português novo metal), é um gênero musical desenvolvido em meados da década de 1990. Segundo o Korn, pioneiros do estilo, o nu metal foi “o novo rock alternativo”. Desde sua incepção esse gênero têm tido imenso apelo popular. Plus it's also Hip-Hop with distorted guitars if you want to simplify it that much. I would also say Nu-metal fans are hedonists and don't really care about quantifying music genres to age boundaries, and over analyzing music based on bias opinions.

I think pop music with distorted guitars and lyrics that contain a lot of the word "fuck" is much more unique and powerful than METAL.

One of the few genres that completely lacks artistic value. It's the perfect plot to make children think they are heavy and commercialize everything that metal stands for. Nu metal completely lacks soul and most artists just want their 15 minutes of fame. They can't write music but attempt it anyway, and somehow all these 13-year-olds love it. And some grown men who can't grow up. It's nothing more than pop music with some distortion on the guitars and curse words in the lyrics. And when people tell the truth, the childish fans dismiss them as haters.
