Mo., 14. Jul. – Jazzopen Stuttgart 2014
Hi Folks
I`m back from Germany and it is Time to write a little. The little Amphitheatre at the Mercedes Bent Museum is a tiny and fantastic Location for an intimate Concert. 1000 Seats and sold out:-)
I liked Jimmie Vaughan and his Band a lot as well as the famous Lou Ann Barton. They played a relaxed Gig right into the Sundown. A few more uptempo Numbers could be played, but so I cooled down in a positive Way.
The second main Band was the Tedeschi Trucks Band and the Expectations were high. I have almost every Recording from that Band. The 11 Head Band started brilliant with Songs from their new Album Mad up Mind and I liked their powerful Performance.
In the second Half of the Concert they drifted for my Taste too much in that Freejazz- Improvisation- Endless Jam -Indian Raga- Thing. I have to admit, that I`m not that Kind of Jazzman:-)
They were little too focused on Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi, too, in my Opinion, but Taste is different and in the most Printmedia and in the Net they got just the highest, excited and best Critics for that Concert.
Finally, the Opener The Ramblin Puppets were great, here a Link to their Performance: http://www.theramblinpuppets.de/#news
and "Don`t miss me" from Tedeschi Trucks Band:
