Yeah. Bella will be at Bar Sinister on Saturday. You should go! I'm sure Fuchsia would love to meet you in person. ... If you go, give a great huge hug for me. :)

I stopped buying cassettes in 88 when I got my 1st CD player. My very 1st CD ever was Depeche Mode - Music For The Masses....still an all-time favorite.

Yep - my record collection would be a much poorer place without some of the sounds from across the water. Just from your list Interpol and Mazzy Star for example. New albums from both of those on the way this year!

Hi, came across you in the Lions and Tigers - Asobi Sesku page. You don't get many fans of Curve and VVV (or 'or' for that matter) over here, so that's welcome to see! You've seen CT live? Bet that must have been something special?

You've made me very nostalgic. When I said you were born too late (and I don't mean to patronize here), it was a whole scene that you missed. I went to Edinburgh Uni. between 1987 and 1991 and the bands you are into were the staple fodder of a whole tribe of students there, literally thousands. I'm talking Indie nights at clubs, the clothes, gigs etc. One of Student unions was given over to the "genre". And of course the "scene" also consists of all the minor sound alike groups that appear live at the student venues. I was always envious because I couldn't get into those bands- I have my theories about that (and there's no point feigning interest either!). But I do have a Smiths greatest hits CD and appreciate they are a band of some substance.

The thing about the Bichons is that they are really intelligent and it is difficult not to treat them like honorary humans. I respect your musical taste btw, very arthouse. Though quite "dark" by my standards. You were born to late. You would have missed the Cocteau Twins and the Smiths at their peak.

Oh, that's a bit spooky CocteauLady (though perhaps perfectly explicable) - I saw you this morning on TucoBenedicto's page. It's a Bichon. What kind of personality has your Maltese got? My aunt's Bichon visits us each Sunday, sits at the door and barks to be let in. It also runs and hides under the bed when it is sees the hair clippers coming out. Hides when it doesn't want to get in the car to go home. They are hilarious.
