Indeed it is. So much of Pete Rock is impressives. Makes me wonder whether I've made the right decisions in my life.

Shit man, there are so many rappers out there I can't fuck with because they don't make any sense to me but yet they are "real" and "underground". And those on top of the game are put in the same category because of being on top of the game, but when Drake and Kendrick are considered equally lyrical by both top critics and listeners, when Hot 97's guests are good mcs and worst clowns, shit is twisted. And sounds like everyone now is referring to mcs who are acting and faking, you might almost conclude no one's acting. And yeah, Jay Z is still king with his weak ass shit, Frank Ocean is as good Jay Electronica cause they're equally hyped and for some reason that escapes me even more than the reason for the previous two, J.Cole is some sort of a modern day genius. And I also try hard to kinda guess why Freddie Gibbs is really great, except for his voice and delivery (not my type of flow though). I feel like either good artists lost their true criteria too or I got it wrong somewhere.

It's probably mostly due to the crowd seeing them as a sort of a one-off event. They've been always appreciated for what they were as a group, I never managed to communicate to someone that there are some extremely original and sensible verses there. The album was a very fresh surprise.

I don't remember why but for some reason I used to be a bit prejudiced to the dude, so I decided just to check what he sounds like by gettin sum 15 tracks by him, not the whole collection. Then I realised he's more than dope, but then I started being a bit afraid that the other joints won't be that good.

Your YT coverage of Biedrins seemed to really explain how he ends up attempting very few FTs even in his busiest days in NBA: Key plays tend to be started by smaller players, and big guys play reaction-play near or in the paint. This also helps big men to have high percentage FGs. Therefore, FT% won't affect too much of his possible scoring total (even if, say, 73%-Ruland-isch FT is achieved). Thanks for the info.

Actually your fun fact makes good sense. Many European BK big men I remember have unusual (for US standard) mid-to-long range jumpers in their repertoire that most (maybe even all of) Euro-big men I know are not the one-dimensional inside players. Then what about Bied's FTs? Did he have better FT% when he was in the previous league??

Got success from George T. Johnson. I gave him 1974 and 1975 cards, and he sent me a thanks note. Great ol'daddy.

Done summerizing 1984-85 GS for Whitehead coverage. w/o JB, they were bad. w/JB, they still were bad (sigh...Charlie Brown-style). Thanks for Jerome's diagnosis info.

H'nu-Yr to you. I had long drought for 'graph seeking but got one back from Kevin Lynch. Well, I don't think many people would go after him, but I tried anyway. nice of him to respond. He's at large in Minnesota area as a local celebrity and an analyst.

Yeah, later I checked basketball-reference.com and found out that Mullens was the starting center for the Bobcats (I almost called them Hornets). Their bench actually looks decent. And they platoon Haywood and Biyombo. When 19 year old player is the best inside man of the team, fans should have asked lots of patience for their holiday gift. Tough season. Their offense's not too bad but has to do something with team's ppg-allowed, ranking the worst in NBA.

thanks for the Christmas treat. It is hillarious, and got to go back to Dolph Schayes's time to see that many REAL jews in NBA actually. They were the badasses of NBA back then :}

Yeah, I only knew his nickname because I own basketball card sets between 1977-80; 81-82. There's a HORSE battle of Robert "Bubbles" and Pistol Pete, so he should have had some moves. It's been already 20 years since Bubbles has passed. Sad story should not be a starter for season's greetings, but I will say happy holiday season to you too!!!

It would be really awkward to see Bubbles Hawkins as a team leader in scoring after the departure of Dr. J. That merger really turned respectable team into a doormat. They had some memorable players over time but failed to regain the glory of ABA's 1970's thus far. Hopefully moving to Brooklyn brings some postives to the organization even though I am not too optimistic about that. And RIP, Armen Gilliam. I miss you as a skilled physical Nets offense man.

"Sad Game" I saw the clips of the Nets v. "Run, TMC!!!" (1990) today. The Nets went 17-65 that year. If I were in the Nets-side fan-seat, I would have paperbag put over my head. The shape of the team was that bad. People who saw that clips may have watched that to enjoy TMC, but the Nets were so bad TMC did not need to do there A-game and still torched the opponents easily. It was so painful to see guys like Haley and Myers whipped their a's by the Warriors. No Petro', no DC, no Kenny... And no mercy from TMC. Even the supposed to be decent guys like Bowie, Morris, and Short looked super-bad with tons of TOs. It was "A" sad game.

Thanks always for nice notes and reference help. My next target will be Bob Gross of the Blazers. I consider myself Blazer-mania but have never written to that quiet contributor. The other night I watched Nuggets v. Griz. While inside game suffered for both teams, they should have utilized better in/out combinations. Both teams needed unstoppable perimeter/long-range "gun-slingers." George Karl especially struggled to find anyone to splash some buckets...

Yeah I know. I tried to do a Top 10 list...and maaan it was difficult. First of, I nearly copy-pasted your list...hehehe...it was really difficult making up my mind for this. :D Top 10 isn't enough..for me at least...but I think this would be my final answer (or close to it) >> 1. Notorious B.I.G. - Ready To Die; 2. Nas - Illmatic; 3. Wu-Tang - 36th Chamber; 4. Nas - It Was Written; 5. Artifacts - Between A Rock And A Hard Place; 6. Blahzay Blahzay - Blah Blah Blah; 7. Gang Starr - Moment Of Truth; 8. Jungle Brother - Raw Deluxe; 9. Mobb Deep - The Infamous; 10. Black Moon - Enta Da Stage....... I can think of many more albums that I would like to squeeze in there......somehow! heheh.. (A Tribe Called Quest, Jurassic 5, Scientifik, Jamal, Gravediggaz, Showbiz & A.G, O.C., Rakim, Keith Murray.....etc.)

I'm sending my letters out to G. McCloud, D. West; G. Dreiling tomorrow. I have not finished writing one to Dreiling though. For Dreiling, I summarized 1991-92 Pacers. It is funny to see LS. Thompson and Dreiling start games for Bob Hill while Smits and Schrempf come off bench.
