So after not buying any CD's for a while (2 weeks is a long time for me!) I splurged out on these two:

Whenever i heard A Necessary Mutilation or Noisome Ash Crown I thought that Wrest is pretty damn good at making ambient songs. Now he's gone and made a whole album of it! And it really works. Quite a change in direction for Wrest from Leviathan, but certainly recommendable to fans of that project as it conveys the same deep darkness, possibly more effectively than Leviathan ever did. I really don't know why it took me so long to get this CD, well I've made up for it now!

Jesu - Lifeline
Beautiful
After buying their first album I checked out what Jesu were upto these days, and found that they had gone properly shoegaze synthy while still retaining a little(a very little but just enough!) of the dirty fallout from the first album and the mighty Godflesh. I could listen to the bass noise in You Wear Their Masks allll day long. The only low point I find is Track 3 with Jarboe on, the music of the song is good but something about the way she sings /storm comin' on/ really annoys me, but the rest of the EP is very solid, long repetitive shoegaze tracks which float along. Jesu have created an EP which is quite beautiful and yet rough around the edges, and that’s a good thing!

Next CD has been ordered…….. Wolves In The Throne Room - Black Cascade, can't wait :o
