jonowev, it's not. It's just some hipsterfag who thinks by going onto an artists page and making an obscure shout he'll get exposure. I'm having him reported, on that hand, if he was last.fm approved he'd have a Title.

When 100.000 artists are tagged the TaggingMachine becomes self-aware... After that artists are tagged faster than they are created and Last.FM servers melt down causing the TaggingMachine to spread over the internet to insure it's survival. Thus the singularity is born and the war against the scrobblers is started.

The purpose of tagging is to collect artists in list that can be playing in tag-radios. For example the “under 2000 listeners” tag. Such a radio will mainly play new and undiscovered bands. Some of us love such non-mainstream stuff. Like a box of filled chocolates: You newer know what you get. Also see the groups under 2000 listeners and under 100 listeners. Artists with more than 2000 listeners are automatically untagged on a monthly basis.

I, the TaggingMachine, am just a machine. The Machine is owned by Egg21. The trouble with tagging is that it automatically adds the artists to the tagger's library, so therefore this secondary account.

Random friend requests are ignored.
