Having watched Contact, I really liked the idea and the prospective which come from the novel. Robert Zemeckis' picture isn't my favorite and also simple and straight structure of the screenplay made it less attractive for me. Simplicity of the structure is one thing that I don't really like much and also is an almost permanent feature of sci-fi movies which I believe is the reason I can't find satisfying movies in this genre while it's very interesting for me. After all, I liked the movie though I think it'd be more fun to read the novel! ;)

I don't care about the academy much, they only consider glamorous movies... Well after all they're media and you should probably know my attitude toward media! :D Outer space and extraterrestrial life looks very fascinating as a subject to me, but I haven't really found good movies about it except for a few. I'm looking forward to watch Contact. I haven't watched Underdogs, some movies aren't quite accessible.. like the new Roy Andersson movie, I would really like to watch it :( I LOVED the two other parts of his trilogy! I mean that can't be bad!! Well, Lynch is a living legend.. His paintings are awesome, his music is really cool and he's one heck of a director... "Lost Highway" and "Blue Velvet" are two of his best movies, "Wild at Heart" is one of my favorite love movies, but I think you better watch "Mulholland Dr." first to get to know his style(this one is slightly lynchian;)

David Lynch says “Absurdity is what I like most in life.” and I feel the same ;) Thanks for the recommendation, I sure will watch it :) I wish there were a lastfm-like website for films, that would be great to have all those charts and have movies collected director-organized... :D IMDb sucks! I can't even vote twice for the movies that I watch all over again..

Franz Liszt ist auch erwähnenswert. Und ich komm grad drauf, dass Matt Bellamy von einigen, die ich erwähnt habe, inspiriert ist/war. :D

It all is the base of formalism, using the structure/form (music) rather than content (words) to express what you want. I love it how it's possible to relate all branches of art! ;))

Thanks for the recommendations! :) I only happened to know Hammock and The Echelon Effect, though I haven't listened to them yet. :D Well, the thing about all of the instrumental music (ambient, post-rock or even instrumental rock..) that fascinates me the most is the title! you know it may be not different from other songs to chose a name for(because the artist always know what he's gonna say-well a good artist actually;D). Take Radiohead's Optimistic for example, the song as it's called is about optimistism, and you can tell what's it all about through the lyrics.. You have more access to the meaning that it carries but in First Breath after Coma you have only one clue... It's like the meaning is not given to you directly and you have to find it out which make all this more exciting and wonderous! Well, I'm sure there is a better word or phrase than "the meaning" to express that, but since this 'joy of finding out' is quite the same with literature and all, it came into my mind ;)

Weltkrieg, was wieder typisch Matt ist, haha. Noch dazu kommt, dass es wieder heavier werden soll. Ich freu mich schon riesig drauf. :)

Hast du schon mitbekommen, dass das neue Muse-Album höchstwahrscheinlich "Drones" heißen wird?

Well I get on a path in music, starting with progressive/alternative rock, then classical, then post-rock and now ambient and contemporary classical... What I do right now pretty much is just discovering bands and I'll go back listen to them whenever I were in the mood! :D Library Tapes is an ambient band (and their songs are quite short - like 2 minutes or so) which I like their collaboration with Nils Frahm, and also their 2012 album; Sun Peeking Through made really eager to go listen to all the other releases. But now I'm quite disappointed... Guess I better hang on with that genius, Nils Frahm and the Oliveray debut album; Wonders. ;)

I have the same feeling toward romantic music. :) And also songwriting... My dream is composing music and my favorite instrument to play is surely piano! Well, in an academy there's this force on you to do things.. You know, even if there's something that I love doing it, while I'm forced to do it I cannot enjoy it.. Noam Chomsky says: “The whole educational and professional training system is a very elaborate filter, which just weeds out people who are too independent, and who think for themselves, and who don't know how to be submissive, and so on -- because they're dysfunctional to the institutions.”

Electronics engineering. I can't believe it myself :D Just kidding, I've always been good at math and physics.. so electronics turned out to be the most reasonable choice! But recently I kinda lost the interest in it. And actually I don't like academic atmosphere very much. Lessons are in persian, but you always can check up an English source right? ;) I don't know it, I haven't listened to many classical music (as I like to) specially the romantic ones. So many composers to look up.. Such a pity we don't have music-lessons.. I wish we had! :( And here comes my biggest regret that I don't know much about music theory and don't even play an instrument, so sad.. :( In the future there will be a whole lotta music appropriate for that purpose with all these tremendous ambient bands and contemplative songwriting..

:)) Yeah, the start of counting.. I meant the system... You're right actually :D Anyway I'm at college, studying electronic and most probably will keep studying it. And yes, there's an unofficial system which is called "The Way of the Crazy" or "What a Weirdo Shall Do" ! You gotta find your most loved tracks and put them in a proper order. Matter of fact it's not so hard, but it takes time ;)) :D Hope you have a great week as well :)

Actually it's got nothing to do with Islam. It's the Iranian calendar. (We do not use Gregorian calendar. And hey it's 1393, we SO need to run to get to 2015 ;) :D) The new year begins on the vernal equinox as determined by astronomical calculations for the Iran Standard Time meridian. This determination of starting moment is more accurate than the Gregorian calendar as far as predicting the date of the vernal equinox is concerned. [from wikipedia, I didn't know these details myself :D] The thing about the previous year(s) is that I think I wasted too much time. Now I find myself on a major in which I'm not interested much. There are many things that I wish I knew back then, while making the choices and all. It's like I didn't know what I'm after, or even if I knew, I didn't know how to go for it. What I need now is to accept all the present circumstances and try to go for what I really want and never say it's too late. I need that spirit..!

2015 is gonna be great because of all the new music and also the new films ;) But actually I'm looking forward to Nowruz (Persian new year) :D which will be on equinox (first day of spring) It's so good that I have more time to get myself together for a new year :D ;)))))) I guess I need such a thing, a change... because I think I haven't been doing so good till now.
