It has taken a fair few listens to get under my skin but I it's a rewarding listen for sure. I'll be going back.

The Precisions - if This Is Love (I'd Rather Be Lonely) ...known by Northern Soul aficionados but generally under the radar. It's melancholic but has that relentless soul beat that you can't help but dance to, it gets under your skin and the bassline is a banger.

Thank you! I think "Dark Side of the Moon" (1973) by Pink Floyd is an orgasmic-kitsch-orgy: pounding heartbeats, sound of coins or cash register, helicopter sound effects, airport announcements and urgent steps. The subsequent large projects of Pink Floyd like "The Wall“ (1979) had symptoms of mania, which increased Waters' total commercial control.

Yes, David Bowie was an exceptional artist of his time! For me, It started in 1956 with Elvis. That was only white R & B with hip shaking. Between 1965 and 1969 were the Beatles and Rolling Stones really good (and there were the Kinks, Animals and Who). From "Highway 61" came Bob Dylan with new lyrics and sound. Ecstasy instead exegesis. Jimi Hendrix was one of them. Velvet Underground, Lou Reed and David Bowie transformed the rock into an art form. Important to me are people like Kevin Ayers, John Fahey or Jorma Kaukonen. Everyone is responsible for his own life, the love and the music for that.

There is such a thing like dealing with the past. After Johnny Cash and the cowboy boots, the 80s with Nena and George Michael. But the belief that pop music could give you a sexy surface and a social substrate has shrunk. The imagination of youth is a product. Maybe it was in the good old days already like this? One of my most embarrassing favorite songs is "Wild Thing" by the Troggs? A cruel song, but I loved it hot. That was actually an abysmal band. But Rock'n'Roll!

Your tastes are off the charts. Which charts? If you know, then you know. But, if you don't, then you don't.

Hi Neil! Never went on the Cliff Richards-Terrain! But just because it's Christmas makes a bad idea not better. One should in the next few days nothing do what one would not feel the 364 remaining days as a probate idea. Had there never been the genre of the Christmas album, the world would be different. I wish you completely stress-free christmas!

Interesting aspect about criteria! I think today are only a handful of competent music journalists (those who have a record collection of, say, 10,000 discs at home). Music criticism has not only do do with taste. It makes a difference if anyone knows anything about music or if a song is just a song for him - three minutes on the happy radio!
