These albums...OF MY LIFE

Well, not too long ago I saw a journal like this one, somewhere around here. But yeah, this journal is pretty much only about the albums I cannot live without, the albums that mean the most to me since I've really started getting into music (past 3-4 years). I'll try giving a small description for the first few as to why they're important to me.

Octavarium (2005) by Dream Theater
First off, Dream Theater is one of the most impressive bands I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. Since the first time I listened to them, I fell in love. Now, this album is really what got me into Metal as a whole. Hence, why it is so important to me. It opened the gateway to my "future" taste in music. As long as I listen to music, Dream Theater will always be one of my favorite bands, it's a fact and a guarantee. ;D

11 Dreams (2004) by Mercenary
This album is by far one of the most important ones to me. I love this CD. Every song on it is so original and creative. It's a masterpiece, in my eyes at least. Another reason this album is in my "top" important albums, is because after I learned about Dream Theater, I started looking more into Metal, and this album became my second, for lack of a better word, obsession. =P

Judgement (1999) by Anathema
Oh boy. Anathema are a band that can create such amazing, and beautiful music. They're are AMAZING. From their more days, to their more recent, stuff. They have always been able to make such emotionally charged music. This album is no exception. The reason this is on my top is because it has truly helped me through some rough times.

Arcane Rain Fell (2005) by Draconian
ARF (Arcane Rain Fell) is the album that truly got me into the darker, slower, and depressing areas of Metal, more commonly known as . =P Introduced to me by a fellow friend, they became one of my favorite bands, and still are. All their releases are pretty much perfect to me. The reason I picked this album though? This was the first I heard from Draconian, so naturally, I just completely became obsessed with this album and this band.

Second Life Syndrome (2005) by Riverside
I love the music this band creates. It, along with Anathema's, is just beautiful. Riverside also sound so amazing live, you could hardly tell their studio stuff from their live stuff.

Back To Times of Splendor (2004) by Disillusion
Considered by many a masterpiece of our time, this album has gained Disillusion a pretty large fan base. Like many others, I fell in love with this album. It's so creative, epic, and just overall amazing. I loved listening to every minute of this CD. Along with other albums I've mentioned earlier, I became obsessed with it. =P Gloria, their album following this release was just as creative and well executed, but didn't scratch off to me as well as BTToS did. Hopefully, their next release will sound a bit more like Back To Times of Splendor, as whiny and annoying as it may be of me to say.

The Acoustic Verses (2006) by Green Carnation
Beautiful album! Loved every minute of it, and simply could not keep my hands off of it. Although this album sounds different from the rest of Green Carnation's stuff, I simply love it.

The Silent Force (2004) by Within Temptation
With this album, Within Temptation really broke through to the masses. Many considered this release to actually be more of a album, rather than their casual /. Whether I agree with that or not, I don't know…Just know that I love this album, haha. This album contains one of the only songs that's ever actually made me cry, which you may ask? I'd rather not say. =P

A Natural Disaster (2003) by Anathema
What?! Another Anathema album on here?! You fucking betcha. It's through this release that I actually found out about Anathema. It has a close place to my heart, and has, along with Judgement, helped me get through some rather tough times in my life. On this release, they really showed their fan base how atmospheric rock should be done, and you know what? It's one hell of an album.

I think that should be about it. Sure, there are other albums that mean a lot to me, which I'll most likely make a list of following this, but these are all albums I just could not live without today.
