Hi,
today is not just any other Music Monday… it’s also Groundhog Day!
In other news: I had a very long week. So I’ll keep it short.

Last week in covers:

Noteworthy:
> Meat Wave : New album alert! I didn’t hear all of it, I guess. :/
> Björk : I finished listening to her new album “Vulnicura” last week. Tbh I was underwhelmed. But then again… all her newer tracks all had a hard time convincing me.
> Jennifer Lopez : Flashback alert. There was a time when J-Lo worked with RedOne for contemporary party pop tunes. And I kind of learned to like songs like “On The Floor”, no matter how dull some aspects might seem. :P
> LMFAO : I find it a bit tragic that the party rock duo only lasted for about one smashing album. But hey, the music remains.
> Lady Gaga : Revisiting “ARTPOP” was a bit influenced by my goal to get to know the production style of Zedd a little bit more. :D
Stats!
Most played artists:
> Mikky Ekko : New album alert. “Time” is okay, but for me there were just very few highlights on it. Try “Riot” for instance.
> Goldfrapp : I don’t want to miss “Tales Of Us” in my life. It’s not perfect, but it’s a very good album.
> Ne-Yo : New album alert. I still need to listen to the rest of “Non-Fiction”. The beginning is quite different from typical R’n’B records, because he chose to compose some kind of storyboard again.
Most played tracks:
> Lazy Love : Nice indie tune. (Sorry, that’s all I can say right now.)
News?
> Bad news for blink-182 fans. A new album or even a concert with Tom DeLonge seems very unlikely right now. But hey, at least most of the band want to make new music.
> Adam Lambert is currently touring with Queen. But that didn’t stop him from announcing a new album this year. The first single from “The Original High” is set for a release in April. The album’s executive producers are Max Martin and Shellback. So I would expect some catchy tunes.
> Texas are about to celebrate their 25th anniversary - with a new album and the new video “Start A Family”, which features Alan Rickman. The visuals are nice and I like the fact that Sharleen Spitery
> “Autumn Leaves” by Chris Brown and Kendrick Lamar is a very odd mix - both in music and video form.
> Giorgio Moroder’s new pre-single (and video) features Kylie Minogue. Unfortunately “Right Here, Right Now” couldn’t be more generic.
> Dappy is back. “Beautiful Me” is a pop ballad with strong vocals and a nice video. And yes, you can also find a little rap part.
> Chances are good that a new video by Jimmy Fallon will go viral soon. In it you’ll have a bunch of celebrity vocalists singing the Queen classic “We Are The Champions”. I bet it was produced because of the Super Bowl.
> Speaking of the Super Bowl… the 2015 Half Time Show (presented by a cola brand) - featuring Katy Perry, Lenny Kravitz and Missy Elliot - was spectacular as it should be.
New in the German charts:
The Hanging Tree : Jennifer Lawrence topping the charts in Germany with some “Hunger Games” themed tune? Why not? Could be worse. :D
Break The Rules : Hm, what a coincidence that winter holidays at local schools have just begun. :P
