After Dark

Hi,
it’s been crazy weekend for me. And I feel a little tired… so, what else?

Last week in covers:

Noteworthy:
> Elton John : Flashback alert. In case you know an Elton John record, which is as good as “Made In England”, please let me know. :D
> James Horner : RIP. For me this composer will always remembered for his haunting melodies that came with “Titanic”.
> Haim : Yup, sometimes this lands on my playlist, too. :P
> How To Dress Well : Ballad alert. “Pour Cyril” is just amazing. :)
> Dido : Flashback alert. Oh, those wonderful tunes of “No Angel”.
> Cher : Flashback alert. Have you ever heard “Runaway” from her Believe album?

Stats!

Most played artists:
> Little Boots : New album alert. “Working Girl” features nice pop tracks and a few also convinced me after a first listening session.
> Goldfrapp : Melancholy alert. It almost makes me sad, that I still haven’t found a Goldfrapp song that clings to me like “Stranger”.
> Christina Aguilera : Fun fact: last week I woke up to Britney songs one time. And yes, I am one of those people who tend to compare both artists, even though there is no doubt that Xtina is closer to the music. Unfortunately she seems to have bad luck with scoring another hit song. Anyway, there are things more important than that… (And Britney’s latest single “Pretty Girls” also totally flopped.)

Most played tracks:
nothing to highlight over here…

News?
> Feine Sahne Fischfilet released a great socially critical video for “Wut” featuring Waving The Guns. It deals with police malpractice and deportation.
> I Blame Coco is back - just under a “new” name - her real name: Eliot Summer. The new video for “After Dark” comes with nice light setups.
> Peaches is about to release a new album in September, called “Rub”. And the pre-single “Light In Places” has a video now, featuring art performer Empress Stah. Expect some colorful and NSFW visuals.
> I finally found out that Rihanna’s “Bitch Better Have My Money” has a video now. It’s 7 minutes long and could not possibly be more explicit.
> Vonda Shepard is back. A new album called “Rookie” was just released. It also has some older tracks on it. And a visit to her Soundcloud page is also worth recommending for fans of her music.
> Madonna just released another video for “Bitch I’m Madonna” - to be specific it is a remix video for the “Sander Kleinenberg Remix”. Not the best move, if you ask me.

New in the German charts:
Waiting For Love : I can’t remember a time, when electronic sounds were more popular than these days. Well, tbh I don’t think it’s the best Avicii song, but it certainly could be worse.
