Can anyone explain to me what the big deal is about iPods? I have both an iriver H-100 and an iPod shuffle and find the iPod to be a complete pain in the arse. Apart from the rubbish earbuds, you have to install proprietary software to interface with your player and lovely digital rights management to worry about.

To me, the iPod is like a high-management girl/boyfriend who needs everything to be done their way or the highway. Great to look at and be seen with but more effort than it's really worth.

Is there something about the iPod I'm not getting?

Give me my Drag-Drop-And-Go iriver any day of the week. I may not look as cool using it, but I'm certainly more satisfied.
