Okay, now I'm thinking of juggling my work schedule around and going out to Chicago on June 2nd. He's just too good for me not to consider it. Anyway, I'll keep you posted. :)

Oh, I wish, I have to work that weekend. I was just asking out of curiosity because I thought you lived in the Chicago area. His solo show in Iowa City sort of moved me to tears (I am a weirdo, I guess?) so I'd love to see him again someday.

Well, any weekend is good, just let me know what you wanna do. :) btw are you going to see Craig Finn the first weekend in June? He's in Chicago, I think…

By "depending on the price" I mean less than $100. Like if we could get them for $70-80 hopefully? Anyway, let me know if you decide on it!

That show! I wanted to go SO bad, and it sold out in an HOUR—I didn't think to look for tix on Craigslist! Depending on the price I'd be crazy excited to go. (I wish I could say money is no object, but…) Can you really come that weekend? That'd be so awesome!

Oh yeah, UC-Riverside would have made sense too! But yeah, it turns out it's Riverside as in Cedar-Riverside, which is a low-income/punk neighborhood in Minneapolis (like "It's a long way from Cedar-Riverside to Cedars-Sinai" in "The Sweet Part of the City")… Later, and coincidentally, I was reading a Yelp discussion about 24hr food in the Twin Cities and somebody mentioned, incredibly casually, "There used to be a 24 hour Perkins on Riverside, but people kept getting shot." Holy crap! I do know where the crystal court is but haven't been there yet. :) Someday. I did go on a pilgrimage to the Southtown Mall, but don't tell anybody. Felt like such a dork, haha. (There were no actual drug deals going down in front of the fabric store. Probably a good thing?) If you ever do decide to come visit here and do your Craig Finn pilgrimage, let me know and we can go exploring together! That sounds ridiculous but I'm actually totally serious. It'd be a lot of fun! :)

Hi, long-lost Hold Steady buddy! I'm glad you remember me after I basically took a hiatus from the internet. I love Craig Finn's solo album! I think it's so beautiful and unexpectedly moving at times. I saw him live earlier this week, and I was really blown away. By the way, you know how you said months ago that you'd like to go to the Twin Cities and see all the places Craig Finn sings about? I just moved to Minneapolis, so now I'm in the process of doing that myself. I think I'm saving a meetup with the devil at the Riverside Perkins for last, though…

Oh my gosh. I love having someone to talk to about Hold Steady songs, and how Bruce Springsteen sings songs about souls (he sings about mine too!). This is so awesome. What's your all-time favorite Springsteen song? How about your favorite Hold Steady song? And what Gaslight Anthem album should I buy in order to get into them? I only have a couple songs by them kicking around my iTunes right now.

Argh, I forgot I didn't reply! I was way excited for "Rock Problems." It's not actually my #1 favorite song by them, just a convenient online handle, but I do really love it and when they say "Sing along with the 'Southern Girls,'" I always feel like that's a little bit about me since I always sing & dance to that song (I know that sounds sort of self-centered; I know it's not LITERALLY about me—it just speaks to me, or whatever). I love "Adderall" too! I got into them when I found "How a Resurrection Really Feels" on a music blog. The title alone got me hooked on them! How about you, when did you get into them?

Hell yeah! I always love new friends but I REALLY love new friends who like the Hold Steady. Were you at the Metro show in Chicago last week?

I've been listening to a lot of Jens Lekman lately and, if you're not aware, he's awesome. I don't know your tolerance for Swedish pop, but I think you should check him out.

Yes! And the Zombies are great. I've been really British Invasion-y lately, and I've been listening to them quite a bit. Anyway, have an awesome day.
