"Built by 79,640 people (Used 1,720,392 times)." You guys are just upset because of how mainstream this tag is getting. Hipster trash, all o' ya!

Well, wanting to play Kesha isn't exactly thinking independently. Listening to Anal Cunt, however, is much closer to it.

Hnnnnnnngh this tag ruins so much for me! Now when I look up "'seen live' radio" it doesn't play all my favorite top 40 singles! The other day it played Ke$ha, but then some band named Anal Cunt started playing! I haven't seen them! Or have I? I don't know anymore, my entire world has been shattered because I am a puppet incapable of independent thought!

also... I think it's HILARIOUS that people who complain about .this. tag use the following tags: screamo (and the bands tagged screamo are not actual screamo), deathcore, hardcore (see screamo), vocal, soundtrack, rock, gothic, criminally underrated, hipster bullshit, fucking amazing, noise, pop, techno... because clearly those tags are really, really helpful...

if I were you I'd be more annoyed with people who tag artists a certain genre they are not. 'emo' would actually be the perfect example for that, considering there IS a genre called emo, and 99% of the bands who are tagged emo are NOT doing music that fits the genre boundaries.

I don't see how a "seen live" tag screws things up for other people. I mean, who'd search for that anyway? And it's informative for people who might friend someone and want to know more about the shows they've seen. Shrug. To each their own.

I wish people would stop using stupid tags like this, because it fucks things up for everyone else.

Well, this is fascinating in a heartbreaking way. Furious people talking filth, calling other people "tards, retards, fucktards, faggots, gay, homosexual." Do you hear yourselves at all? Because I am embarrassed for you. You must be locked in some big-time hideous Freudian nightmare. That, or you're ignoramus bigots who should be shipped back to the 50s. Whichever. But here you are, meanwhile, stinking up the aggregate data for the rest of us! It's a harmless tag - a reminder and a nice little bit of a boast. Can't you get that? Why would you wanna take it away from people? It's of no consequence whatsoever to similar artist calculations, stop lying. And seek counseling for that frothing aggression you have. In a hurry. Before you again post something loathsome. There are excellent medications. And these 3 words: Common fucking decency.

"it's inherently subjective so naturally it doesn't make sense when viewed from a communal perspective. it distorts any statistical computations based on aggregate data" - no, it just helps people keep track of bands they've seen live. Christ on a stick. Also, considering how important personal charts and other features such as blogs and events are on last.fm, I wouldn't define its functions as purely social.

it's cool for peeps to mark shit they've seen.. whatev. but it's inherently subjective so naturally it doesn't make sense when viewed from a communal perspective. it distorts any statistical computations based on aggregate data. since last.fm is based on communal interaction, i'll never use this tag. but who cares. and just theoretically speaking, while it says "unusual to tag composers" it's just as unusual, theoretically, to scrobble composers using the same criteria..... all recordings are made by orchestras or performers using their music, and thus all performances are by likewise by orchestras etc... same thing.
