As you've noticed the last several years, similar artists for bands/artists have gotten worse and more unreasonable. Especially if you keep reading on and on through the top similar artists for each artist. The one that has been baffling me for a while is The Offspring, a punk rock band that's not extreme metal or hard rock (though they do have alternative influences and sounds at times). Thanksgiving day, it's a time of giving. In America, we spend time with our families, eat turkey and all that stuffing, and enjoy over 9 hours of quality NFL football. Two games over the weekend (Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions; Miami Dolphins at Dallas Cowboys) had special halftime performances…all top 40 selected and well…drawing some criticism.

The game in Detroit featured the Canadian post-grunge/hard rock Nickelback. The people in Detroit rejected the idea and unsuccessfully petitioned the NFL to remove the band from the halftime show. They wish to have someone from their huge music scene…

On every community, there's forums dealing with on-topic stuff and one for off-topic…on the video game site Gamefaqs, there are actually several boards for each type of genre.

I've always hanged out on the rock board…board 248…at first, it was a decent place to discuss music. Various contests, best-of-lists, etc… Always a good time to read shit.

Then something happened. The board's opinion…became invalid.

Non-stop hipsters throwing down trashy opinions down my throat. Mindless worshiping on Radiohead, Radiohead, and Radiohead.

Bands slowly started to get hate. Eventually, respected artists like Dream Theater and Muse were not considered…

Drop them…have a few songs handy so I can hear it out first before deciding on stockpiling through them all.

Earthquake in Japan, and a close call

It's been a tough week in Japan. Last Friday, one of the worst earthquakes struck the Sendai area. The damage was intense, and now the Fukushima power plant is in danger of a potential nuclear meltdown.
