I don't know much about Orbital but I love Halycon & On & On as well as the Tom Middleton refix of that tune. I'd be very grateful if any Orbital fans on here could direct me to any of their other work which is in a similar style, they've got so much music it's hard to know where to begin

Altogether doesn't deserve the bad rep it gets. It's a great album, in it's own right. I think people just wanted another MON. While In Sides and MON are obviously a mile better, I like that they swayed away from that progressive style. They had already proved themselves, so they essentially experimented further by making a punchy pop album. Every Orbital album has it's own soundscape and Altogether too has that unique charm to it.

@jeff071: Yes - In Sides for the darker stuff and the harder beats of all their 90s work. I love Don't Stop Me because it has that slightly harder sound reminiscent of The Middle Of Nowhere. @alin1: you're probably right. I have a bit of a blind-spot when it comes to The Altogether. I never got over my disappointment on first hearing it (can't believe it is 10 years old already) and the more light-hearted, experimental tracks just annoyed me. When the new albums drops it will be a good chance to revisit the last few albums too.

@MrMushroom123 - I don't agree that they are Altogetherish but I take your point. Last year's tracks are far closer to The Middle Of Nowhere and Never is close to The Blue Album, in style at least. I'm encouraged by all three tracks though because they have a bit more emotional depth to them than the patchy last two albums. The harder beats and the darker ambience of their 90s work seems to have gone for now but I think (and hope) that they've corrected the nose-dive of the 2000s.

New song is pretty old school (not old school orbital, just moreso old school electronica). Can't wait for next year for the album, will be interested to see the tracklist.

Why are they touring so many northern dates in the UK and nowhere near the South West? London is the only date in the South. Bristol is like one of the biggest cities in the music scene yet they haven't booked a date there. Argh so frustrating, one of the top 5 bands i want to see live!!! New song i am unsure about. It's ok i think, and might be a grower but it doesn't strike me as anything incredible from a couple of listens.

In Sides and Leftism, and Dubnobasswithmyheadman. Where would we, and electronic music be without those 3 albums? Doesn't bear thinking about that's what.

Insides is perfect. Possibly the best electronic album of all time. In 100 years it will still sound fresh.
