I uploaded a cd mix into my iPod. Stolen Property was on it. I was floored! Did some digging and sought out Born Sandy Devotional. I didn't fall in love with it immediately, but after a few listens I think I may be coming around.

Someone introduced me to the Triffids recently and I just realized that they were the band that you tired to get me into sometime last year. D'oh. Belated thanks!

Wow – didn't see that coming! But "Dancing Naked" is a close second! Nooooooo! I would have to opt out of that one (what a hypocrite am I). Oh, and I completely agree with cahoots, below: your Tom Waits mix is great.

Hey! Got your mix earlier this week, thank you! I'm really enjoying it. I really like this Macha song you put on there. I'd never heard of them before. I'll have to check it out. The tom waits mix is great too! I should have your mix in the mail tomorrow or saturday or so.

ya my ears are still ringing form the concert, for lolla im looking forward too arctic monkeys, cold war kids, bon iver, silversun pickups, decembrist, and ben folds. The dj tent seems to have some real kick ass artists as well. for headliners.... i love some hard rock so i'lll see tool. Ill see kings of leon, whether i go to the killers is still a toss up. depends who's playing at the same time. And of course there are many more cool lesser known bands but it will take to much time to type them all.

It was definitely amazing, idk how familiar you are with the twilight sad, but they were just great. very loud and distorted sound, the singer had a ton of energy, the rest of the band played great. They have such a distinct sound that i like alot. If they had more people who knew who they were they could really put on a amazing show. Mogwia was well .... Mogwai, all their songs kinda blended together, i could only re3member the name of one until the end. but it was great. Batcat and Like Herod were the best. it was SO LOUD. Pieces of flaking paint/ brick dust was coming of the ceiling from the vibrations. very chill crowd, not to packed with people.

I'm much into two new Dutch albums (Johan and Anne Soldaat) right now; visited the city of Krakow (Poland) btw and recieved a message that there had been an insane assault on our queen last thursday, which failed...6 people in the crowd got killed though, just crazy, this never happened before

Hey there! You do the same. Uhh, as for me, I'm down with anything, but I would of course prefer to discover new things so if it isn't too much trouble take a look around my page and throw something amazing that I've been missing all this time my way? :) Oh, and if I don't respond for a week or two, don't be alarmed. I'm going on tour starting this Wednesday, so I'll be all over the place. But fret not! You shall get a bad ass mixtape when i get back.

never seen both Wilco and Calexico, so that's great; I'm aware that Wilco is a great live band (have their Kicking Television live album, from a Chicago gig I believe) so am really looking forward to that. We've had beautiful weather for about 2 weeks now, really pleasant..... and great for the kids in the street to play outside. Hope all is well with you (and hope your daughter is recovering soon)! listened to you april mix 2 times now, but will give my comment separately

Um... I've been wanting some more Tom Waits... ( I only have Mule Variations) So that might be a suggestion. Besides that, new music is always good. As long as it's thoughtfully put together, I'm okay with anything.

hey mixtape partner, is there anything you would like/hate on your mix? I'm hoping to get it done early this month.

heh - Some of the mix you might like, some you might be appalled by - it's very silly in places :)

I'd totally forgotten about Calla until I saw you were listening to them - is Collisions any good?

I could have sworn I left you a second shout, sorry :\ Anyway, I'd prefer CDs, they're more fun :)

Hi there! Two recommendations: Department of Eagles and Here We Go Magic. If I'd have been more on it, I'd have included them on "Dire Rainbow," as they'd have fit pretty well, with the added bonus of you liking them! Maybe. Hope you're well!

I don't really care about theme or content or anything, I like to be surprised! So do you want to do physical CDs or digital links?

Much appreciated Sadia, it was really good fun to put together, trawled through some real classics the past week. I've just done like a party mix of it, you know, get rid of those annoying gaps between tracks. Might put a link to it with the other one if there's interest. Just downloading a few others atm, I think one of yours is DLing as I speak...

Aha! The conversion is almost complete! Glad you liked it. It's a pretty remarkable album. And thanks for the link! I shall download shortly...

Your wish is my command... http://www.[spam] see, you (and I) can justify this by thinking that this might get you past your "female vocalist prejudice," thereby opening you up to more purchases! <rationalize, rationalize...>

Well, considering my prejudice, I'd say *any*. Haw. No, really, the best is the most recent: "Dragging a Dead Deer Up a Hill." It's really beautiful. She's got a ton of earlier stuff, but it relies on way too much reverb, etc. Let me know if you'd like me to up! I'd love to pass it along.

Keyboard Choir sound OK - I liked the Toytown song on their Myspace. Thanks. I must suggest a few less difficult themes - I've suggested too many recently re memory.

It's the whole "I was there 1st" thing isn't it? Hence my suggestion for a "I had the demotape" (or maybe that should be illegal download?) mix next month.

It's growing on me, maybe more than Ringleaders did. Not Your Birthday grated the 1st time, now I love it. Skull has always sounded great since the 1st time I heard it a while back. And you?

Alas, it's the problem with being the Mixtape overachievers that we are. Well, as long as the *right* people appreciate it.
