Yay! Thanks for the shout – I *do* aim to please. And no word from my partner yet. Hmph. At this point, I pretty much just make them for the group, you know? I'm behind on downloads this month, and still need to get yours...

wow- thanks, glad you could get hold of it. we should have some new stuff soon (that album is about two years old). we aeronauts are a pretty new band- we haven't done anything releaseable yet, but we're heading to the studio to do an album by the end of this year. would you like me to do a .zip file of all our demos? thanks again for getting the KBQ album!

Forgot to thank you for Antony – *Thank you*! It is really beautiful. Seems like "late night two flagons of wine" music. Did you have fun with this month's theme? I wasn't initially that into it, but I persevered. Still need to download yours...

Oh lovely! :) I'm happy just to make a mix of any songs really. Are there any genres you'd like me to steer clear of? x

Tx 4 the shout - the 'smashup' is mine - by pure luck the keys and tempos matched almost perfectly. I must've heard the Brel sometime in the past b/c when I heard Torrini's it was stuck in my head until my subconscious kicked in & I (re)discovered Brel. If you'd like, I can clean up the timing and send you the smashup as a single track. Haven't heard Walker or Momus --- I will definitely have a listen. -yrs, Artephius.fm

Ok thnx, just found the torrent, but have to wait a while cos there ain't many seeders. Maybe I can give you another Dutch recommendation: de Staat, a fresh rockband on the eve of a major breakthrough here. Rather sensational btw is that Springsteen will attend Pinkpop (3 day festival in may in our country) and will give a 3 hour show; I swore i'd never go those large scale festivals anymore, but now i'm in doubt

Not big on the female vocalists? I'd have you pegged for a Mazzy Star fan. See, I'm the opposite: I'm more likely to listen if it's a woman singing. And how is the new Antony?

Hi I don't mind, if you can avoid lossy formats like mp3s,wmv etc that would be great, but I'm not tooo precious about what is essentially a gift. Thanks

Roosbeef is Roos Reebergen, a female singer with red hair from Nijmegen, with strong lyrics, who has made a very nice first album; problem for you is that all her very personal songs are in Dutch. Another good point is dat she has a real good band with top musicians around her.

Ooh. Cocteau Twins. So here's the link: http://sharebee.com/477af20c. It's kinda big (at least the files sound good). You really should see them: they're fun.

You should try the new Animal Collective! It's a good time. Let me know if you want me to post it...

Yah, the Antony album got 5 out of 5 on tinymixtapes. (Sorry: I'm a review geek.) I don't know if I'm ready to make the leap – "beautiful", "gorgeous", "achingly personal"... It's why I don't listen to Jeff Buckley anymore. I'm shallowing with age.

Yeah, I like it – it reminds me of "Mysterious Production of Eggs". It feels folkier, somehow. There's been so much new stuff (i.e. Animal Collective, etc.), I feel like I'm neglecting songs...

Thanks for your nice comments on last month's mixes! I worked on those – I really shouldn't have tried doing two, but it just didn't seem to work any other way. Do you have the new Andrew Bird?

okay.....so music drags you through grey rainy days; wel we've had two wonderful weeks with bright sunny but very cold weather with great skating opportunities; too bad it's grey now, cos I like oldfashioned cold winters. So much for the weather......heard the new Andrew Bird allready? or Anthony and the Johnsons and Animal Collective?

Erm - that's a difficult question and it depends what you're in the mood for as their output changes a bit. If you liked the two Skin tracks then the re-issued "Children of God/World of Skin" 2xCD would be a good place to start as it includes a compilation of the best tracks from the two Skin albums on the second CD, and Children Of God, which was the most accessible and successful of their first phase. After that, they start to sound a bit more like a normal band (well as much as they could) and "Various Failures" collects that period together nicely. If I was going to recommend any Michael Gira (apart from the above) it would be Angels Of Light - Everything Is Good Here Please Come Home. This is worth a read - http://trouserpress.com/entry.php?a=swans

Ah yes - I meant to comment on that but then promptly forgot. Those two tracks are from this http://www.swans.pair.com/DISCOGRAPHY/shame.html So in answer to your question - Swans. Latter stuff by them was released under the World Of Skin moniker.
